While Search Engine Optimization is a complex science, a few simple steps can greatly improve your Google ranking. FathomSEO’s Mike Murray has already shared his opinions (and a few tips) with the WebProNews crowd, but he revealed plenty more during his keynote at Cincinnati’s What’s Working Now conference of 2006.
There’s no key secret to SEO… but Mike lays out some common (and uncommon) practices for gaining rank in natural search through title tags, meta descriptions and page content. Recent studies show that roughly 70% of businesses fail to optimize their web presence for natural search engines, instead relying too heavily on PPC ads.
Make sure to check Mike Murray out at the SES Convention in Chicago as he will be speaking at “75 Minute Search Abs” a basic search track full of quick tips to pump up a marketing program.

Another great presentation. I love your videos, but it seems I can’t finish and test one new idea before you give me another one. It’s ok because I find that the ideas I get from your videos are good. Keep up the great work!
Good overview.

Thanks web pro I am letting everyone no about this video if you don’t mind
What was presented brought up some interesting if not quite basic solutions to the issue of ranking in a search engine. When I worked on the company’s website I came across a huge problem. The name of the company is knowledge Solutions.
270,000,000 results come back in google! It is a CMS Database driven site that I developed. Even though there were so many results coming back under google I still managed to get it ranked number 1 after a month of having the site up and running and with no PPC, just keywords and good design tailored to search engine ranking; it has never in its history gone lower than number 1.
The video of the presentation showed many things that I did, and that I thought to be obvious, and I am surprised many people did not take them up. Still some points were new and a very worth while listen.
I just wish I was based in the US, I could attend next years conference!

Good advice. Always have good content on your site and dont worry about page ranks. If you have good contents then people will want to link up with you and share your site with others and will always return for more.
