From his co-founding of Did-it.com in 1996 through his election to chairmanship of SEMPO (Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization) in 2005, Kevin Lee has garnered years of knowledge, experience, and insight into the field of search engine marketing. Kevin stopped by to chat with Mike McDonald of WebProNews at PubCon, and shared some of his thoughts on Yahoo’s new Panama software, as well as the impact of Google’s new method of calculating quality score.

Kevin notes that one of the more significant changes in migration to Panama will be the implementation of “ad groups” as part of a campaign structure. While users may experience some short term inconvenience in navigating the new interface, Lee feels that the long-term benefits will more than balance the equation. Kevin also addresses some questions about Google’s quality score, its evolution, and the impact to new customers looking to invest in AdWords.
