Yahoo’s email users will no longer have to worry about a storage limit on their accounts. John Kremer, vice president for Yahoo Mail, announced the change to unlimited storage, which will begin in May. “When Yahoo! Mail launched 10 years ago, users got a whopping 4MB of storage for their entire mailbox. Today, you would fill that up with a single picture from your weekend, ” Kremer said. Kremer also went on to say “as much as we’d like to just flip a switch and ‘unlimit’ everyone on the same day, we’ll be rolling this out over a few months to facilitate a smooth transition.” Yahoo’s email service has transitioned over the years just like technology has in storage capacity just 3 years ago in 2004 Yahoo offered 100MB as the limit followed by 1GB in 2005.
Yahoo also announced a strategic partnership with Virgin Mobile today. The agreement will launch Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Messenger in early April available through Virgin Mobile’s Email & IM offerings. These applications will be available for download on several of Virgin Mobile’s handsets including the Switch_Back and Cyclops and will be preloaded on selected future phones. Yahoo! Mobile Web will also be prominently featured in Virgin Mobile USA’s Surf the Web service beginning in April.

Wow this is vert generous to give unlimited sizes. I think this will cause problems for Yahoo! Surely a limit of say 10Gb should be the limit.
