Loading ...Recently, the government has worked directly with social networking site, Myspace in an attempt to curb sexual predator activity on the internet. All 50 states have taken some action so far in this effort. Both Myspace and the government are working to make social networking sites safe places for underage people to visit.
I think it is great what the government is doing to stop sexual predators on the internet, and MySpace in particular … however, there is no substitute whatsoever for parental involvement! Parents need to monitor their own children’s use of the internet! Of course parents may not be able to stand over their child’s shoulder everytime they are on the computer (and many kids may access the internet from a friend’s house or a publicly available computer, such as in a library) but that doesn’t mean that parents have to remain oblivious to their children’s use of the internet!
i go on alot of theses network sites and their is so many people faking other people pictures and u really dont know who the person is. it could be anyone and u report the person using false pictures and they dont do anything about even if u have the proof….it is getting so out of hand….u think they would ban the person fakingfromthe xite ……..but nuthing is never done…anyone could behide the picture claiming to be that person and thier is one site thats really bad called IMVU.com….they make rules and dont go by them…i have find 12 yrs old on it and reported being to young and u still see their site up and running….u would even think their parent would notice them playing in a 3D chat room….i dunno i just think its all out of hand……
