Bancroft Family Divided over Dow Jones Bid

The Bancroft family is supposed to have their decision of whether they will sell Dow Jones and Company to Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation by 5 PM today. As a result of the continuing chaos, boards of both companies are not convinced they will have an answer by the deadline. Many family members, as well as Wall Street Journal employees, oppose the estimated $5 billion bid in fear that Murdoch’s brand of journalism might interfere in the news coverage of the Journal. YouTube’s Copyright Crackdown

The Google-owned video-sharing site, YouTube, has developed a filtering technique that will weed out illegally updated copyright material. The technology is currently being tested and will fingerprint user-uploaded videos that violate copyright restrictions. YouTube is hoping their filter will prevent copyright violations.
