Microsoft Buys aQuantive, Creates Online Ad Group

Microsoft Corp. purchased the digital marketing services agency, aQuantive for $6 billion dollars. Microsoft looks to improve their online advertising revenues and keep up with the two top money makers, Google and Yahoo. The corporation created the Advertiser and Publisher Solutions Group to handle the advertisements.

The APS team will assume responsibility for building and marketing all ad platforms, including Atlas, DRIVEpm, MSNDR and Microsoft® AdCenter, along with emerging media types such as in-game and mobile ads, and the agency arm Avenue A | Razorfish.
