Writers Strike…But For How Long?

Posted on: November 15th, 2007 | 2 Comments

What’s your favorite television show? And how do you think you will do without new episodes of it? These are questions that many Americans are asking themselves since the start of the Writers Guild of America strike on November 5th, 2007. The WGA is striking for more pay on DVD sales, but more importantly they want some kind of compensation for Internet downloads and sales.
The writers are striking against the big studios and production companies. WebProNews interviewed a former member of the Board of Directors for the WGA, Charles Pogue, a blogger of plaintivewail.com, Stephen Falk, and the press representative for the WGA-East, Sherry Goldman.
The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) did not respond to us about inquiries for an interview. Yet every person we talked too felt very strongly about the strike and were unsure when it will come to an end. For more details of the strike and for the exclusive interviews with all three people, watch the full story from Reporter Kara Ratliff on WebProNews.
