I enjoyed seeing how you combined the video and the audio together.

We work with professionals to help them grow their business and income through speaking.

I am putting together a blog post to show my folks how to use video creatively to market themselves and will include a link to yours as well.

    Enjoyed the article too.

  3. Splog says:

Splog, Splogging is the act of Spamming Blogs… Posting to too many Blogs, (at once).

Doing this is likely to get your Blog, (and maybe even site), Banded!

  6. So dropping your link in blog comments will lead to traffic? Well maybe a little bit of traffic but surely this is not a major strategy. I think of doing this type of participation on blogs is for authority building and not traffic building.

I’d like to see expansion about the ‘raising awareness’ portion of this video in the future.

Promoting a blog is relatively straightforward as long as it isn’t classed as ‘adult’, whe all of a sudden none of the usual rules apply… porn bloggers seem reluctant to share links, it seems…

    Ah well..

  15. Great beginner tips! When I moderate my own blog, it seems that people are of one of two camps, either they are thoughtful, passionate comments from intelligent people or they are ridiculous, no-good, completely off point spammers. What a great video to educate people as they’re beginning the process of blogging so we create communities full of passionate and respectful bloggers. Best, Lisa

  18. Nice. I think it’s important to understand there are very different blog-promotion issues for specialized/niche topic sites such as ours (pretty much only about content management!) and a braoder scope or personal blog.

  20. I’ve been desperately trying to find ways to get my blog publicised & it seems that the same rules apply to blogs as for link building for your website. Find blogs & forums that will allow you to make contributions & these add up to links pointing to your site/blog. The main issue seems to be finding related niche blogs/forums that aren’t competitors – they’re hardly likely to let you post on them :o /

  21. The video was very informative for those wanting to get their blog out to the public. I agree that you have to be passonate about your subject and it does show through your blog.

  22. For Golly Sakes!! I get SOOOO fed up with all the sloppy submissions, with
all their missing letters and misspellings, poor grammar, etc. Why do so many want to publish when they cannot write?? I have begun blogging with a
focus on more serious errors, but these smaller ones also make me feel
education in the U.S. has abysmally failed. But really, the cause is our entire
culture, which no longer places significant value on the formerly prized principles: accuracy of expression, depth of knowledge, high standards, decency,
caring for others outside one’s own sphere, etc.

Tom Brokaw is right–the outstanding generation won World War II; since then,
we aren’t what we were, I submit.

Everything starts with content…if you write passionately, they will come. Believe it.
