I’ve been using this for a while. I’ve found the most amazing things said about me that people thought were private… People need to realize that noting is private on the internet.
I found this person was talking bad about me and only mentioned my business name but the alert told me about it and then I figured out who it was.. they were using a pseudonym but mentioned other names I did know…
People will never learn.

I like setting up little GROUPS of Alerts: Not just a Site link, but matching top key phrase Alerts too: In an utterly shameless example:
1. mac-compatible-web-cam.com
2. apple isight
3. macintosh web camera
4. uvc webcam
The alerts I get back really help me find related forums, blogs I could comment on, etc. It reaffirms which sites Google values & picks up on (and implicitly, which it doesn’t!) You’ll get a sense of how RAPIDLY the Goog nabs things from high PR sites – and which little breadcrumbs you leave that it picks up on slowly, eventually. All told, Alerts gives me a morning Wake-Up call with easy opportunities to keep building NEW, highly-topical backlinks from here, there, everywhere… And show me *precisely* where earlier efforts paid off.
The Bottom Line: AFTER you’ve done everything, EVERYTHING! you think a good SEO could possibly do and have HIT THE WALL….3-4 related Alerts are like little assistants remind you ‘Well, you could try something here.’ ‘Why not join that discussion there?’ – INVALUABLE!

Know your source. Never download from a website unless you know the site is reputable. Perhaps your friend has already used the site, or you can research in forums to see what others are saying about it. Check with Better Business Bureau Online to examine a company’s integrity. Beware of sites that try to redirect you to other links or mask their real Web address. Avoid file-sharing networks if at all possible.
