Remember seeing the bottle of soda erupt because of Mentos back in 2005? At the 25th Annual ACCM Conference, Mike McDonald talks to the guy that made it happen. Steve Spangler explains how that single incident not only exploded onto a Denver news anchor but also really helped his blog take off after he posted about it. He has continued to leverage his blog and expand it into an e-commerce business. Watch the WebProNews interview for more from the “Mentos Guy”.

Steve has created an example for bloggers. The main concept Steve has pointed out not to push products and to peek into what the company really is working on. Its really essential to differ ur blog which Steve does it well here.

    Now that’s cool Marketing!

It’s interesting to watch the “rules” change when people like Steve Spangler show us old timers some of the new ways of marketing. I watched this guy during his first panel at shop.org (I think) and it’s refreshing to see someone who really practices what he teaches. I’ve checked out his site and he’s not a one hit wonder. I also think that it’s important to see examples of people who are successful using this kind of blogging and social media marketing strategy. It’s not just theory in the hands of someone who really understands the foundation of good marketing.
