Stopping Negativity Before It Overtakes You

Posted on: June 19th, 2008 | 6 Comments

No one likes negative feedback. Sure, sometimes it’s “constructive criticism” but most everyone would much rather receive a pat on the back. But how do you stop this negativity from getting in the way of your clients? It’s called reputation management as Todd Friesen of Range Online Media explains to Mike McDonald at SMX Advanced. Friesen says reputation management and SEO go hand-in-hand because it’s all about getting the positive results above the negative ones. He also suggests participating in and leveraging social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., to help gain positive momentum. Check out the WebProNews interview for more reputation management tips.

Dr Blockbuster says Yesch … there’s alot of very good information & tips presented there by Todd :smiles: I think Mike needs to speak up louder at next interview. Now, that’s NOT a criticism! :roflmAo:

Really? Are you really rolling on the floor laughing so much that your arse has fallen off? Do you really think you are THAT funny?

And what do you mean by networks and forums, are you trying to indicate you jsut flit about from space to space without any focus or substance in your life?

  2. The flashing light in the advert next to the presenter was sooooo distracting that I had to open another window to cover it while I viewed the video!

Great video with a lot of sound advice. Negative feedback is essential for the Creator of a Product or service to be more creative and more innovative. Negative feedback helps the inventor or the marketeer to improve performance and so to capitalize on gains, while enhancing the reputation of the Company or the Marketeer.

It is quite possible that SEO works in this way, but from another hand search-engines not divide bad and good localisation.

Isn’t this reputation management thing, similar to muffling the people voice.

Also I don’t agree, bad or good people do talk about it both.
