Another way to secure text links is to check to make sure that anyone re-using your content links back to you. I like to call this: making sure you capture all the links you have already “earned”.
Businesses have an enormous amount of content they have not considered publishing. This content can be published on content sites that link back to their site. These published pages will be content relevant and more valuable in developing traffic. And why is the DMOZ still on the list of places to get valuable links?
She is right… I do this things every day – and they do work!
Great information. Link building sure does help even newbies like me get on the first page of google.
Good point of view regarding to link building techniques.
Rhea Drysdale is right on the money. I think people need to consider ‘relationship building’ online, is very important. Don’t be too much wrapped up in Google ranks, or any Search ranks, when just doing well building relationships will help spread the word of who you are too. The rules on Google can change in a nanosecond, but viral marketing with good people or companies can last much longer. Remember anything in print online could show up archived somewhere helping to keep your site link out there even longer. The sites with nofollow, but lots of traffic, can work great too. That gives you more credibility and higher integrity, than just expecting a link back to your site. Laura
