SES San Jose: Michael Gray On Inbound Links

Want to hear how webmasters can develop their inbound links - while simultaneously staying on Google’s good side?  Michael Gray of Atlas Web Service discusses this subject (among others) in an interview with Mike McDonald at SES San Jose 2008.

  1. In my experience, only one inbound text link from a high PageRanked page (PR of 3 or 4)is enough to get good rankings for a new website and an immediate (2 weeks max delay) PR of 2.

    The inbound text link (with 2 or 3 relevant search words as the text) must be from the homepage, or the actual page with the high PR, (not an inner page).

    That last point might be contestable as the relationship of the value of an inbound text link from an inner page of a website which itself has a poor PR but the homepage of the site has a high PR is still a grey area for me.

    If anyone can enlighten me with the formula of that relationship I would be very grateful! (and sceptical!) Thanks!

    It is very hard to make your website noticed, as most sites who get ranked then will not link to you or want you to pay for the link. I am a Leukemia survivor just wanting to spread God’s love to the world. I have lost over 8,000 dollars from being scammed from newbie to now! I will not pay for links and link to all except objectionable content while that is another story in itself? God bless you all!!

    it still leaves the question - for a small web site like mine - how do I build if google is always changing the rules.
