Posted on: September 30th, 2008 | 3 Comments

You just never know who might show up at BlogWorld. This year it was Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park and Abby Johnson was able to grab him for an interview. Although some may not know, Mike is a blogger himself as he tells WebProNews. Check out the complete interview to find out how Linkin Park built their brand and the “true” origin behind their name.

  2. leebug says:

That’s one of the ways Mike uses to connect music enthusiasts even though the music industry is not known for blogging. And he’s on the right track not starting very early.

  3. A.K. says:

As a fellow music producer (I use the term “producer” extremely loosely when it comes to me) and blogger, I empathize with Mike quite a bit.

I started my first blog in 2001 (beginning of my sophomore year of college), and I believe my first post was one complaining about my mentors in the German language department at my university patronizing me for being intelligent but not taking the option of a second degree in German. (Actually, in the end, I did do German language as a second degree, but anyways.)

Reactions? Remember that back in 2001, few people knew much about blogs. I was told that my site was the stupidest idea ever — after all, who wants to listen to someone whine 24/7?

So yeah, I totally empathize with Mike on the whole “why blog about my life” thing; it seems he doesn’t want to whine 24/7 on the Internet.

That’s what LiveJournal blogs are for, anyways. ;-)
