What in the world are neckphones? S1 Audio introduced the series at CES 2009 to give your ears a break from headphones and earbuds. The series includes NxSET Music 1 and NxSET Music 2 to use with portable music devices.

The neckphones sit comfortably on the neck and have speakers on either side that project music up to the user’s ear. The device is lightweight and comfortable and includes an expandable neckband. The NxSet can also be placed on a table or central area to share the music with a number of people.

The NxSET Music 2 is essentially identical to NxSET Music 1 but also contains built-in retractable earbuds for private listening. Both Music 1 and Music 2 operate with 2 AA batteries. The products are known for the “internal audio amplifier to deliver rich bass and clear, crisp middle-and-high range sound.”

-    Easy-access power and volume controls
-    Acoustic Bypass technology

Although release date and price have not been made public, there is a rumor that the NxSET Music 1 and Music 2 will be available during first quarter of this year.
