At SMX Advanced in Seattle, Washington, WebPronews had a discussion with Matt Van Wagner of FindmeFaster about pay-per-click campaigns, some strategies, and ad copy.
Van Wagner talks about how to launch a new campaign and get a good quality score up front, as well as tactics (some a little in the gray-hat area) for getting the most out of your campaigns.
For one, he talks about determining what your competitors are paying for their ads, and approximately what their quality score is by doing a little “competitive analysis.”
He shares a few other strategies that other at the conference references, and discusses a particularly interesting “backdoor” that Yahoo may have open.
Finally, he discusses ad copy, noting that these days, you dont’ want to get stuck inside the box. He says you’ll likely be better off going out and writing more fun and “wacky” stuff and testing it against the old boring standards. He thinks you might like your results.
