Loading ...If you haven’t yet heard, rumors really are going around about Twitter getting a Nobel Peace Prize. It all started when former Deputy National Security Advisor Mark Pfeifle suggested it in an interview with Fox News. He said:
“If there’s anybody that should possibly get a Nobel Peace Prize in the next time around, it should be the founders of Twitter who delayed the tuning up of their system in order for an amazing amount of tweets to be sent out in the last week or so.”
At first, most people scoff at the idea, but is it really that far out in left field? The issue raises mixed opinions. WebProNews spoke with several people regarding the topic and also received mixed responses. Logan Weiler III told us that he didn’t believe it was appropriate to award such an honor to “an inanimate object.” On the contrary, Tom Godell told us he felt that Twitter “richly deserved” a Nobel Peace Prize.
Do you believe Twitter deserves a Nobel Peace Prize? As society modernizes and technology advances, should we expect more suggestions such as this in the future?
I am much surprised to hear this. If twitter gets Noble prize this will encourage many IT professional to shine like twitter.
Twitter which means “Make high-pitched sounds, as of birds” is actually heard by many and people loving to enjoy in the tune of twitter, so i think Twitter deserve Nobel prize.

Peace Price Nobel for twitter, I just know if there are peace price for Internet User, what is the criteria of nobel peace price?
I’m pretty sure the nomination was to generate buzz, RT’s, and Digg’s because it really makes no sense to nominate a platform and not it’s creators. Along different lines, it would make no sense to nominate Twitter in this case – after all, hasn’t Google helped more people find and share information on the Iran elections than Twitter? Why isn’t Google nominated? Or the Internet itself? Tim-Berners Lee should be awarded far earlier than Twitter ever should (discussed in depth at http://www.thenakedscientists.com/HTML/articles/article/once-a-knight-is-not-enough/).
Twitter is a platform, dependent on many other platforms… It’s just a form of communication that hit that perfect blend of critical mass and network effects sooner than other offerings. Although it’s awesome and really fun/effective, it’s definitely not worthy of a Nobel Peace Prize.
I am very excited about this. I think Twitter deserved to be nominated for the “Nobel Peace Price”.

Well the fact that twitter is helping significantly by allowing users to twit in few seconds and share news around, and also helping people to monitize their website by sharing update of products or services, makes me wanna vote twitter founders for a NOBEL PRICE.
