Despite the woes and gloom of the economic downturn, it seems that the search industry maintains high energy and enthusiasm. Speaking specifically about SES San Jose 2009, James Hanbury, the CEO of Incisive Media, said he was encouraged by the passion that was very evident at the show.
While some industries buckle under the strain of hard times, the search industry continues to thrive. As Hanbury indicated, the reason could be easily linked to the fact that the industry is accustomed to change with new technology popping up all around and is therefore, able to quickly adapt when unexpected events occur, such as the economic turmoil.
As part of a move to keep up with all the continuing changes within the industry, SES is moving the San Jose show to San Francisco next year. SES also desires to expand internationally in hopes of reaching a more global search audience.
