MediaWhiz was founded in 2001 and is known for building the first and largest link building network. The company has worked aggressively to build up a large publisher inventory and recently reached 40,000.
In the past, MediaWhiz supported a self-service model but now, it is encouraging advertisers and marketers to consult with an expert before launching into text ads. Tom Rusling of MediaWhiz, spoke with WebProNews and compared the self-service model to handing a teenager keys to a Porsche and giving him/her a case of beer.
According to Rusling, the results are the same. They cause a lot of trouble, are ineffective, or both. On the other hand, those that do receive consulting and direction tend to get better results for the long term.
When advertisers are left on their own, they do not usually choose relevant sites, do not focus on deep linking, and do not use enough simple anchor text variation. Some people even try to solve their site’s SEO problems by putting more links on it. Not only do these actions result in wasted money, but they also result in an ineffective online advertising campaign.
