Professional blogger Chris Garrett, spoke with Abby Johnson of WebProNews about creating a successful blog and the elements that go into the process.

Garrett said the key to making a blog successful is to know what you want out of it and to know what your audience wants out of it. You need to tap into what your audience is passionate about to have a successful blog.

Make your blog authentic and be focused along with being passionate.

Garrett believes content is important but its the readers who are the most important. Your blog should serve your audience.

To get your blog content out there, it’s all about networking and communities.

To make the move to becoming a professional blogger, Garrett says if you have a 1,000 regular subscribers you have enough traction to try and go to the next level.

If you know your audience, if you know your keywords and if you know what your audience wants – and you bring your audience what they need on your blog – You will have many raving followers and your blog will be successful. Your followers and subscribers will become evangelists for you, they will tell everyone else – Hey have a look at your latest video, have a read of your latest blog article, check out your latest ebook! Your popularity will increase and you will be perceived as an authority in your niche, in your industry and you will become the go-to person for your audience’s needs.
