Groupon has been considered to be the leader of daily deals for the past several months. However, recent data shows that LivingSocial is gaining on it.

At SXSW, WebProNews had the privilege of talking with Aaron Batalion, the company’s co-founder and CTO, about LivingSocial and what sets it apart from services like Groupon. According to him, LivingSocial tries to build long-lasting relationships with merchants and help them reach their local customers.

“What we’ve built is a new opportunity to connect local consumers with local merchants in new and interesting ways,” he said.

The company also recently launched LivingSocial Instant as well as a LivingSocial Escapes that both indicate how the company is continuing to develop and differentiate itself.

LivingSocial is a big deal in the daily deal market. They are one of the top sites to go to in order to find huge discounts and savings on all kinds of products or services.

A great and easy way to find these online deals is by going to http://www.dailydealpool.com. They’ll email you daily with the best buys in your area, keeping you from having to endlessly search for the right coupon.

Yup, these Groupon like deals are showing up everywhere…Just not in my area. If you’re like me, and you live out in the sticks. These group buying sites don’t typically offer deals near your hometown.

I thought I was missing the whole Groupon boat until I did a little research and found http://steals4all.com. I’ve signed up for their daily email and now get a list of all the NATIONAL Groupon deals available to buy, REGARDLESS of where I live.

So as long as these deal sites offer national deals too, then I for one am happy.

Very interesting, many people would agree LivingSocial is gaining power and becoming the second biggest group buying site worldwide
