SimpleGeo began as a location-based gaming company but quickly realized that the technology that it needed didn’t exist. As a result, it began developing the technology itself with the goal of making it easy for developers to create location-aware applications.
The company released SimpleGeo Context and SimpleGeo Places last year, but most recently, announced the public beta of SimpleGeo Storage. While both Context and Places have received a lot of positive feedback, there has been a distinctive hype around Storage.
Jay Adelson, SimpleGeo’s CEO and the former CEO of Digg, told WebProNews that Storage is “the complete picture on the pieces, or the ingredients that you need for a location app.”
Adelson said the company would continue to develop all its products in order to simplify location data for developers. He was also quick to say that SimpleGeo would pay close attention to feedback from developers.
