A new mobile app called Banjo recently launched with the goal of helping people discover what they’ve been missing across social networks. No, it’s not another social network. Instead, as Damien Patton, the CEO of Banjo, explained, it acts as a layer on top of existing social networks.
The app takes publicly available information that users put on their social networks, such as Foursquare check-ins, status updates from Facebook, and more, and makes them available in one location. Patton told us that he hopes the app will help users stay more connected locally and socially.
