Google+, the latest social development from the search giant, is continuing to gain extreme hype. WebProNews recently spoke with several search and social media leaders including Lee Odden of TopRank Online Marketing, Steve Rubel of Edelman, Li Evans of LiBeck Integrated Marketing, Barry Schwartz of RustyBrick, Loren Baker of BlueGlass, and speaker and author Mari Smith to see what they thought about Google+.

While they all believe that it is definitely Google’s best attempt at social, they equally agree that there is still a lot that needs to be done to it. For instance, they would like to see further integration of Google products, an improved mobile experience, and better sharing capabilities, to name a few.

Even if Google makes these enhancements, the big question that everyone is pondering is: Will it have the power to control social in the same way that it does search? What do you think?

I am using it and it looks very easy and simple… expect google+ will be on top in the future.

So far, it looks to me like Facebook will become the equivalent of “People” magazine, and Google+ will be more like “Time” magazine. Those are both huge markets, and though there’s some overlap, they’re different markets. The question may not ultimately be which will become the more important platform, but what market will each appeal to.

I think it’s a great new addition to googles empire, it needs to fix issues it’s having with internet explorer browsers so most anyone can use the feature but has great potential. I’m definately trying to implement it on my site, i like how it shares things beyond a simple profile as facebook does.

  5. Kevin T says:

The People vs Time analogy is a good one. I can see that G+ will be more additive to professionals and business. Facebook for the masses. Both will have their place.

Google with it’s long range of ‘free amazing products’ all accessible with a single I.D. online as well as accessible via mobile will have no problem in establishing Google Plus as the No. 1 Social network of tomorrow and judging from the excitement of early adopters it’s only a matter of time before it will become the hottest cool thing to do…
