In spite of the innovations and features that Bing has brought to search, it appears to be struggling on the paid search front. WebProNews spoke recently with Mark Ballard, the Senior Analyst at the Rimm-Kaufman Group who said that the company needed to ramp up its platform for advertisers.
Microsoft and Yahoo partnered in a search alliance 2 years ago in an effort to better compete with Google. However, neither company has shown a tremendous amount of improvement.
Ballard told us that he was pulling for Bing but that it needed to make some changes to better meet advertisers needs.

That was a great interview Abby. As usual you’ve done you’re homework and saved me a lot of time for me researching this subject and I’m not just saying that to get a link. It may have taken me twice as long to take everything in since it doesn’t directly affect my work and I’m a little behind in this area but it was well worth it. The bing/yahoo merger has affected my company quite a bit via lost revenue from ppc ads since the merger.
So glad this was useful to you, Brian! Hopefully, we’ll see some improvements soon.
Abby
I can honestly say that I have had zero effect since the merger and my traffic continues to grow. I have, and will always concentrate on what works, which we all know is Google.
