Enterprise social networking company Yammer is setting out to become the social layer across multiple enterprise applications. In an effort to meet this goal, the company has integrated with NetSuite and, more recently, Salesforce.
David Sacks, Yammer’s CEO, told us that his company wants to take the activity streams of these applications to the whole company. He believes that, without these integrations, all the departments would be on their own separate network, thus creating siloed applications.
He also told us that, since social networking was one of the most efficient forms of communication today, enterprise software should be socialized as well.
