One of the most difficult industries for social media to enter is the healthcare industry. Dr. John La Puma, the founder of Chef Clinic/ChefMD, spoke with WebProNews about this area at the BlogWorld Expo and said that, even though it is challenging, social media is necessary in healthcare.
Dr. La Puma told us that he tries to encourage more doctors to get on board with social since as little as 3 percent are currently involved in it. He also pointed out that the healthcare industry needed to figure out how to use social media for communication and education first, and then diagnosis and treatment would come.
