Everyone has a story to tell but, more often than not, people are afraid to tell it. As someone who experienced this fear herself, Marla Schulman of Dvin/Ideas told us that she now encourages others to overcome their own fear. Schulman worked behind the camera for many years in traditional television settings, but after being coaxing by a friend, she began to share her story of Life After Kids.

According to her, people don’t need the latest and the greatest equipment to be a video storyteller. In fact, she told us that people can do it for under $200 by using a Kodak PlayTouch, hand grip, LED light, and stereo mic. If these items aren’t feasible for you to purchase, she recommends that you start with what you have, even if it’s a camera phone.

Schulman believes that we are the information highway and that we should use what we have to get our story out.
