Search Engine Strategies: London Style

Friday, February 16th, 2007

The 2007 conference scene is now officially underway as yet another information packed SES show has come and gone. As far as these types of events go, SES is one of the most preeminent destinations to get all the juicy info on the latest news, rumors, trends and happenings within the search engine industry.

Also, I hear that some of the best parties ever are synonymous with SES gatherings, but I’ve only got world-of-mouth confirmation when it comes to that assertion.

What is certain, however, is that these were the topics covered at this year’s SES London:

* How search engines list web sites for free and through paid placements
* How to get free “organic” traffic by building a site that pleases search engines and your visitors
* How to efficiently purchase listings guaranteed to rank your company at the top of search engine results
* How to calculate the ROI of your search marketing efforts by tracking your visitors from the time they hit your site until they buy - and get tips on improving conversion if they don’t!
* How to build links that generate traffic to your web site, and how to avoid the penalties of “spamming” the search engines
* What’s coming next in the constantly evolving world of web search, and how you can profit from those changes

WebProNews guest correspondent Debbie Harrison was on hand at SES London. Earlier this week she brought us coverage of sessions highlighting campaign and project management in both paid search and organic SEO strategies.

Debbie also sat down with our own Chris Richardson to give us an insider’s perspective into the happenings at the show. You definitely won’t want to miss out what she has to say about this year’s Search Engine Strategies in London.

Teaming Up NetSuite and eBay

Friday, February 16th, 2007

Business software provider NetSuite has joined with online auction site eBay. The two teamed up to present businesses with more efficient ways to trade items on eBay while managing their businesses with NetSuite. EBay Innovation Senior Director Max Mancini explains how eBay and NetSuite offer ways to help businesses grow.

“By using eBay Web Services to offer listing management capabilities from within the NetSuite solution, NetSuite is able to deliver a great value to small and medium-size businesses that want to list on eBay, offering them a complete solution to help them grow their online businesses.”
This collaboration lets consumers manage many business actions such as inventory, accounting, marketing and site hosting. NetSuite President Dean Mansfield encourages online business procedures.

“With such a complete solution, merchants do not need to spend time and money to tie different software applications together to run their online business; one solution
from NetSuite does it all.”

Mansfield looks forward to the energy of the e-Bay market and NetSuite’s management solutions.
