			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.google.com/">Google</a> will begin selling advertisements across all the radio stations of Clear Channel Communications by the end of June. Google has been trying to increase its ad sales for quite some time now, and bring it into more traditional forms of media such as newspapers, radio, and television. This partnership between the number one radio station owner in the United States and Google is an agreement that will run for several years. Chief Executive of Clear Channel John Hogan spoke about the deal.</p>
<p>&#8220;It represents an opportunity to put what is arguably the hottest sales organization in the world to work selling our inventory, and we&#8217;re very excited about that.&#8221;</p>
<p>The deal will allow Google to have nearly 5 percent of Clear Channel&#8217;s commercial running time. According to the New York Times, this includes 30-second spots on all of Clear Channel&#8217;s 675 station during all programs at all times of the day. Clear Channel believes Google will bring new advertisers to their stations. Google&#8217;s president for North American advertising and commerce Tim Armstrong spoke about Google&#8217;s enthusiasm concerning the deal.</p>
<p>&#8220;Everybody from top to bottom at Google is excited about this partnership.&#8221;</p>
<p>And along with this venture of incorporating ad sales in traditional media forms, Google has recently started selling ads for the 125 national satellite channels on EchoStar Communications&#8217; DISH Network. They are also attempting ad sales for newspaper chains such as The Chicago Tribune, <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/16/technology/16radio.html?_r=1&#038;ref=technology&#038;oref=slogin ">The New York Times, and other newspaper chains</a>.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.google.com">Google</a> formally began a test of <a href="http://www.google.com/intl/en/press/annc/tv_ads_trial.html">television advertising</a> with its partners EchoStar, which runs the DISH Network, and a small Northern California cable company called Astound Cable. Google&#8217;s ad testing with Astound has been taking place for several months, and the search company thinks it can do a better job of targeting cable viewers with relevant advertising.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.paidcontent.org/entry/419-google-to-sell-ads-for-echostar-first-tv-deal/">The data for testing</a> the television ads will come from aggregated, anonymized metrics collected from set-top boxes that connect TVs with the cable signal. Google will be able to offer advertisers targeted spots based on demographics, dayparts, and channels, with those clients paying only for actual impressions delivered.</p>
