As you have seen from our coverage, WebProNews witnessed a wide variety of amazing innovations at CES 2010. Definitely ranking at the top of our “favorite’s list” was the Beamz musical technology.

The Beamz product consists of 3 laser light beams for each hand, which translates into a total of six beams altogether. When users break a beam, music is created. Once broken, the light beams trigger and activate 100+ instruments, chords, music clips, sound effects, and rhythms. Amazingly, the Beamz software ensures that every musical sound is perfectly on key and beat.

Beamz has an educational component since it helps users learn how to play music. Users of all ages can play the device with ease and more experienced musicians can use it to compose, produce, and record music. In addition, users have found Beamz therapeutic and spiritual.

Beamz also introduced a new gaming platform at CES.

The product is compatible with both PC and MAC and is powered through a USB port. To learn more about this incredible innovation, visit www.thebeamz.com.

If you’re a fan of flying helicopters, or Star Wars for that matter, you are going to love the RCX4 Star Stryker from Digittronics. WebProNews caught up with Patrick Le at CES 2010 to get a closer look at the intriguing gadget.

The X-Wing fighter helicopter comes with 4 screws and is designed to fly both indoors and outdoors. According to Le, it can hover up to 1 mile from the remote. Unlike some of the other toy helicopters, he said the RCX4 is very stable because of its integrated 3D Gyro system.

Reportedly known as the first helicopter in the world to be modeled after a spacecraft, the RCX4 Star Stryker is available for $399 at www.digittronics.com.

CyWee Group Ltd. revealed a device at CES 2009 that is a combination between a gaming remote and a 3-D mouse called the CyWee Z. The China based company is the first in the world to make use of 2-axies gyro technology for true 1:1 response.

The device connects to a PC by plugging into a wireless USB key thus giving users computer navigation capabilities in a 3-D space. As a gaming device, it can be used like a classic Wii remote or similar to a gun complete with a trigger underneath for games in which you shoot things.

The device offers four modes of play in a single controller. Also, the gadget can be held on either end and the controls operate just as they would for games such as Mario Cart. Equipped with a Software Developer Kit (SDK), the CyWee Z allows users to configure their personal PC or online games to their liking. The remote cannot however, be used with a Wii or any console games.

The company is striving to make the digital experience more real and interactive. The controller comes with three PC games including Virtual Tennis 3 from SEGA, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 by EA Sports, and Crashday by Atari. The product is currently retailing in the U.S. for $120.

Yahoo Desktop Products team has made available the Yahoo Search Gadget for Windows Vista. Yahoo currently has this as the only Vista product. Users can operate the Search Gadget on the Windows Vista sidebar going around the need to open a different browser. Consumers can get into web search, yahoo answers, local, and video from the gadget.

Yahoo Desktop Products team member Jonathan Strauss thinks yahoo search will remain one of Yahoo’s most popular services and adding the Window’s Vista sidebar gadget will only improve it.

“We designed the Yahoo! Search gadget to feel at home in Vista’s new visually rich environment with animations and four shiny colors to choose from.”

Some Yahoo search bloggers seemed impressed with the appearance, while others conveyed concerns that this service currently remains restricted to the United States. Blogger Simonne Matthew comments on the obstacle facing Vista working with other operating systems.

“This is the first desktop toy designed for Vista that I discovered. Yet, I’m not going to try it: I uninstalled Windows Vista one hour after installing it, because I could not find any antivirus to run with it. My digital camera’s software did not work either, nor did my TV tuner’s software.”

Matthew refused to buy new devices for a new operating system.
