In fact, <a href="http://www.yuupon.com/about/">Mary Song</a>, the CEO of <a href="http://www.yuupon.com/">Yuupon</a>, which is a travel discount site, made 6 predictions about the daily deals&#8217; space this summer. Interestingly, some of them are already coming true.</p>
<p>For instance, she predicted that Facebook Deals would not become a major contender in the space, and not long ago, Facebook announced that <a href="http://www.webpronews.com/facebook-deals-2011-08">it was discontinuing</a> its product. Facebook is, however, continuing its check-in deals program. Song told us that it has potential since it could help merchants build loyalty programs and drive revenue.</p>
<p>Her other predictions include speculations about merchant control, mobile vouchers, consolidation in the marketplace, and travel deals.</p>

<p>Online display advertising has, traditionally, not been very measurable. Shamim however explains how ShopperConnect combines the effectiveness and measurability of search engine marketing to online display advertising. The advertising platform helps merchants put their ads in front of past, current and, most importantly, new customers.</p>
<p>Since the company is focused on reaching the needs of retailers, Shamim says their solution provides them with a different reach than the major search players provide.</p>
