As far as authority goes, there’s no backlink like a .edu backlink. Getting one though, is kind of tough. But as MartiniBuster’s Roger Montti points out, even artsy/nudie/sortaporno site SuicideGirls.com has a bunch of .edu backlinks. So maybe they’re not out of the question for your site, too.
